"My life's journey has not existed without it's challenges and learning to flourish in the face of various obstacles has, at times, seemed overwhelming. However, it was through some of the most challenging circumstances that I experienced the greatest growth. I have learned that adversity often presents unforeseen opportunity. It is my passion to assist others in identifying opportunities, embracing the process of change, experiencing personal and professional growth, and flourishing in the midst of life's turbulence. "

In professional coaching the client and the coach work together as equals. The client is respected as expert of their own life. The coach is respected as the expert in the coaching process. Navigating change (self-directed or otherwise) is an ongoing life process that is enhanced through the encouragement, support, and guidance of a safe relationship. A professional coach offers just such a relationship.
Not all coaches are the same. Just as personality types, talents and abilities vary, so do coaches. Because coaching is relationship based, it is important to find a coach who is right for you. Coaches often specialize in specific areas. Examples include, leadership, marriage, parenting, personal development, career, team building, financial, fitness, nutrition, and spiritual coaching.
The field of professional coaching is often not regulated through state licensure. This does not mean a coach is not effective or talented in their field. However, it does mean that anyone can call themself a life coach. To protect yourself ask for credentials such as degrees, training certificates, and associations with organizations that require adherence to a code of ethics.
